Not getting something right!

Ok, I don't understand the listed help I need.

1. I installed WINAMP
2. I installed the plug in

I don't understand the settings on the plug in, and how I broadcast what is playing in the playlist, or my streaming content.

And how I get it listed on the shoutcast station list?
There is no good information to explain this - so can someone explain, thanks a billion.!

Are you running DNAS from the same machine?
Better yet, are you running DNAS at all? From your post it does not sound like it.

But if you alrealy are running DNAS:

You wouldn't happen to be using a router, would you?

yeah, i'm back.

Hey - No nothing at all, just needed to open the port in XP.

Anyhow it is working now.

Let me ask you one thing then.

When the station goes blank for a few minutes it stops listings on the shoutcast list.

Is there a way to keep it on the list at all times, so people wanting to bookmark it and wait to hear it later can do so?

I am just experimenting and don't run anything permanently yet.

thanks!

No.

The yp behaves that way because many folks are "experimenting and don't run anything permanently".

So then what's to keep someone from using someone elses station info and pretending they're that station?

Hmm - does that not sound lame?

I mean, it would be nice if someone had to use a passcode and username to make a name........

I mean - it seems like it would be more professional, this way one can establish themself with confidence

Slightly off topic - but thoughts....

Your DNAS is visible at http://69.44.157.142:8000

Please verify the DNAS has enough upload bandwidth to support 100 connetced listeners at 128kbps.

The yp may act oddly for a few more days.

Please read the SHOUTcast Technical Support sticky

To EFF HaRt: See my post in the sticky on the YP probs

See the post I left under the sticky at the top of this forum.

That should explain why your station continues fine despite the YP breakdown.
