no one can connect to me :?

I got the DSP and server up and running, everything loads properly, it shows that there is activity in the status box, i opened up the ports, but no one can connect to it. It's not listed in the yellowpages either......
This is really frustrating, i've been at it for about 45 minutes at this point, and gotten no where. Any help is welcome and greatly appreciated.

This sounds like a firewall at the school's network parameter (Internet connection).

Chances are they are using NAT (Network Address Translation), for this setup you need to map a port 8000 for example at the parameter (firewall) to your ShoutCast server.

Then all traffic coming in on X.X.X.X:8000/www.yourschool.com:8000 will be directed at your ShoutCast server and should work.

There is another work around for this if they allow “Windows Media Streaming” in the NAT config, try setting your ShoutCast server to port 1755 and then connect from outside using X.X.X.X:1755 / www.yourschool.com:1755

Hope this helps, Andy

doin it from school isnt worth it.
If it is like my school, it isnt gonna happen. My school has 4000+ computers, and its upload speed exceeds 1400kbps... it was extremely tempting to me, but they dont even allow me access to install things, use the ran command, use task manager, or even right click! Just think of all the slots I could have had!If only they had a DNAS that you dont have to install.... lol

yeah, i'm back.
