MultiUser Winamp?

Hi!

Is there a way (registry/ini hack...) to make Winamp5 search for default playlist and settings (skin...) in another directory (hint: %USERPROFILE%)? Tried changing the 'defaut directory' in hkey_curent_user, but it does nothing...

If there is none, WHY? I mean, everybody and his brother is using win2k/xp, and it realy bugs that different users mess each others' preferences... Right, people? How hard would it be to implement this feature?

Thanx, I'll check it out!

The question still remains: how hard would it be to make that a native winamp option?

It'a already an item in the official wishlist
and, afaik, it is scheduled for a forthcoming 5.x release.

As to how hard it will be to code/implement...
well, I guess only one of Christophe or Francis could answer that.

The damned plugin messed up some things in the 'documents and settings' folder... I changed the profile directory to that one, copied the profiles from winamp\profiles manually, and gone were my user settings, custom login pictures, start menu items... Got he most of it back using system restore, but still had to reinstall some programs. Everything is running fine now, including the plugin, but I still don't know what happened...

Also, every time I click the 'logins' button, winamp crashes.

Hope the feature will be natively supported in winamp some day, hardcoded is always better, right?

Tried profiler and, tbh, it sucks It moans about not being able to use HKLM (which it shouldn't be doing anyway from a restricted user account!) and crashes too frequently.

I hereby express my interest in a /proper/ implementation of multiple users. It's a great pity 'cos WA5 is otherwise fantastic!

Glad to see it's on the wishlist. PLEEEASE let it be fixed soon
