ogg streaming problems winamp 5
Hi,
I'm having problems getting streamed ogg songs to play in winamp5 whenever I try to play a streamed ogg file, winamp5 just sits there and says "connecting" without ever doing anything else. I can play local ogg files just fine and I can stream mp3 files just fine from that same server as well. any ideas? |

Check settings in Prefs > Input > in_vorbis.dll > Config > Streaming.
What's the URL/link ? UJ |

well, I have the settings set to:
retry dropped streams 3 times 64kb buffer prebuffering:50% at start, 75% at underrun. winamp proxy server settings:port 80 only The server I'm connecting to is a private server running kplaylist http://www.kplaylist.net/ Is there anything in my settings that might be causing problems? I noticed my girlfriend's machine had problems too and she's running Winamp 2 |

Not sure about the proxy part, I never use it. Try juggling the settings, sounds like the most likely area.
Increasing the buffer to 256K helps me with rebuffering problems. I've had problems with 'Retry dropped streams', setting it to anything but 0 can crash my Winamp under heavy traffic. Ogg radio certainly seems less robust tham mp3, but I've never had problems connecting. Couldn't work out what kplaylist was trying to do, couldn't find any ogg streams. The only streams on the demo site were all mp3 (some of them empty). Do you have an actual playlist you can attatch. UJ |
