Line level plugin?

My laptop only has a headphone output, and I'm looking for a way to basically turn it into a lineout. I know that they are basically the same, but I'm just curious.

Does anyone know of a plugin like this? DirectSound is close but not quite. It should always give me a line-level signal, no matter what any of the volumes are set at.
