2 servers

hi all,

I have recently aquired a server that I would like to use for my radio station as it currently limited to 32 users. Our current host allows us to stream one stream to an address at 64kbs, and once this stream hits his server, it broadcasts at 64kbs, and also has another server that downsamples the stream to 24kbs for modem users. Now my question is how he does he do it ? It looks like he is relaying the server which is easy enough to do, but how does he get it to downsample? I can think of way of doing it involving VB and winamp/shoutcast DSP but I'm sure there is a more elegant way of doing it.

Thanks in advance
Toby

I would imagine he plays it in Winamp at 64kbps, and sets the Winamp DSP output to 24 kbps.

It really the same concept as playing a mp3 that is 64kbps and streaming it at 24.

yeah, i'm back.
