Streaming URL

Right, I'm having troubles finding what the address to my stream is.

So far, I've downlaoded and installed the SHOUTcast source thing and the SHOUTcast server.

So now, all I do is play the tunes through Winamp, give the following address ( http://myip:8000/listen.pls ) to people and they'll hear whats playing?

Well, I did that but some people were connecting through different IP's and still listening to what was playing succesfully..

What am I doing wrong? Or have I missed some steps?

I find it incredibly odd that they would be able to connect using more than one IP. Do you have multiple IPs for your machine?

Please post the links that are working for yourself and others.

Well, my IP address and the address users are accessing my stream from is: http://81.129.95.240:8000/listen.pls

But in the SHOUTcast server logs it saysL
Quote:
<03/14/04@17:09:30> [source] connected from 127.0.0.1
Could you please explain what that is??

Ohh.

That means that the source (your WinAmp/DSP combo) has connected to the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) from the same machine.

That most likely means that you have a dynamic IP, meaning it changes from time to time. (Usually on restart.)

You can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though ) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services.
Then, your links would be:
DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls

Note: Be sure to download the No-IP.com Dynamic DNS update client.

I have no idea which host type to set it as:
Quote:
DNS Host (A)
DNS Host (Round Robin)
DNS Alias (CNAME)
Port 80 Redirect
Web Redirect
???

You don't know how much I appreciate your time dude!
