MP3 Gain Help
I'm posting this here because I couldn't find an MP3 Gain forum.
I ran MP3 Gain on all my files. Track gain, with clipping enabled. Now there's a single "click" sound at the beginning (end, maybe) of every song. What did I do wrong? Thanks. |

Clipping is not a feature to be enabled, on the contrary, if your file is reported as clipping, it means it will have those popping sounds, you have to apply the gain only if MP3gain tells you your files won't clip if you do so.

Should I run it again with clipping disabled? I've read the help files on clipping, but I'm still not really sure exactly what it does. It says it clips sound samples that are extra loud, but what's the difference between these sound samples and parts of the song that are just louder?

Clipping is a bad thing. Lower the volume level that it boosts to. How many decibels is it set to?
BTW I don't think that MP3 Gain can tell if it will clip. My MP3's are at 99 decibels, it says it will clip, but it doesn't. Darn, I can't think of anything to put here. |

I've just been using the default setting of 89.
