the simplest visualizer available

I want a visualizer or feature that simply shows the track name, artist, and maybe album name and elapsed time, in a large font in the center of the screen. No animation or psychedelia necessary, in fact that stuff tends to chop up the sound on my machine.

The idea is, I want to run this in full screen mode so I can read the song title from across the room.

Seems like something simple but I have yet to discover it.

Is there such a thing?

Thanks in advance.

  • open up the AVS
  • right click the AVS window for the AVS editor
  • Settings
  • Preset/Hotkeys
  • disable "Random switch presset"
  • Preset/Load
  • Load the attached preset. I think this is what you want, tweek it a little and it should be good for ya
And there you should have it, if you want you can add some extras but it's up to you. Hope this is what you wanted

EDIT: DOH, attchment in next post

Hmm... havn't used it in awhile but I just tried it out again and it steals how the title reads in winamp. Advanced title formatting and all.

Thanks. That preset appears to work. (The screen saver is nice too but that's not what I need) Are there any additional codes I can use to to get the preset to display the name of the artist and the album?

The only codes mentioned are $(title) and other codes to display current play position and song length.

Thanks again........

This might interest you:

A group of skinners are working on a full screen skin, an early preview (without buttons) can be found here.

It's far from ready yet but that's the right point to get involved and give your suggestions on what features you'd like to see eg. album title display etc.
