[Opening]?!?
I'm having a problem with Winamp which is really annoying! I've searched the boards and I have not found a topic like this, but if there is I appologise. I am using a Plug-in which displays what I am currently listening to:
I have this in my Signature on another forum. Well, I just started having a problem where it does not display the song correctly. What happens is, for example, instead of Showing 'Incubus - Megalomaniac' it sometimes shows '[Opening] 01 Megalomaniac.wma'. I know this has absolutely nothing to do with the Plug-in because when I have Winamp in front and it changes song it changes the name to the '[Opening]' thing and then back to the normal one in a split second. I've changed back to Winamp v2 cause it works fine on that, but I would like to use v5 again. Please, is there anyway to stop this because I find it really annoying! Also, why can't I have images in my Sig or in my posts? |

I get exactly the same problem, and often, when shuffle is on, it jumps to another track when that one's still [Opening]. Really annoying. Needs sorted out. Happens on stuff I dl'ded from MSN Music Club and ripped from CD.

Megalomaniac: Are all your songs wma? That is probably the issue at hand. Same with neiltc13... MSN Music Club is microsoft, so it uses microsoft format (wma). Are you ripping your CD's in wma? WMA isn't the best format, and if your ripping I suggest medium-quality MP3 (192kbps is a good starting point).
The WMA plugin is still being developed, so it's not perfect. Quote:
Probably needs more time to decode than it does for MP3's. Most likely that's what the problem is. I don't know if there are any solutions other than NOT using wma. This plugin may be helpfull, but don't hold your breath: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=125564 Hopefully someone else might be able to help more. [@imho] man [@imho] I had dreams about unit testing last night :-( [@sim`a] i have nightmares about syntax errors, whats your point |

Hmm, ok. I'll give it a try, but not now, cause I'm to lazy to uninstall and reinstall Winamp atm. Thanks.
