Volume Control

Howdy All.

I've checked several other forums, and I think that this post won't be a duplicate, but I apologize if I just missed it somewhere else.

In any case, I'm looking for a way to equalize the volume for different songs. I have tried several different volume equalizer plugins, but they often try to equalize the volume within the song (soft parts are made louder, and the louder parts softer), and that's not what I really want. Is there any way I can attatch a "volume modifier data byte" to a song that winamp could read? Is there any other programs or plugins that could increase the overall volume of a song?

Thank you in advance.

You can use the Gain (preamp) slider in the EQ and save as an auto load preset. Be careful not to push this too high or you'll end up with distortion (clipping).

Or you can permanently normalise the track with something like CDex.
