The Doors

Nobody doubted that Jim Morrison was making some sort of statement in Miami when he pulled out his dong and waggled it at the audience. The problem was, nobody really got the statement at all.
But to Jim Morrison, that was at least half the point. His antics on television and at concerts helped to drive The Doors to the top of the radio charts. It landed them on Ed Sullivan's Show, but since they either forgot or decided against changing the words, Sullivan threw them out forever. He wouldn't even shake thier hands. Morrison retorted "We just did the Ed Sullivan show!"

The Doors, as famous as they are, are not known for thier best work, but only thier most popular. "Light My Fire" is one of those diddies that really grate on your nerves after awhile. That's why they made six albums, cranking them out while watching Jim Morrison's life fall down a twisted spiral, gaining speed with every over-the-top show.
Thier first album is an instant classic, with "The End", "Crystal Ship," and "Soul Kitchen." Most songs wrap themselves around the spinning sound of Ray Manzarek on the keyboards, but they all are great in thier own light.
Another great Album is Morrison Hotel, featuring "Peace Frog", "The Spy," "Indian Summer," and of course, "Roadhouse Blues."
Unfortunately, Morrison, poetic great as he was, died in a bathtub in Paris, France. He was subsequently buried there, and his grave is a desolation of morons who wish to emulate him and have yet to ever come near his genius.
