What's the Auto button on the Equalizer used for?
Hello,
I've got two questions: 1. What's the "Auto" button on the Equalizer used for? 2. What's up with that old nasty Winamp interface appearing whenever I launch Winamp5? It always appears towards the top of the screen. Can you get rid of it? Thanks, Jeff |

auto load is used to automatically change the Eq settings per song. when that songs starts playing the Eq will change to whatever you have set for that song.
the last time i tried it the Eq did not change back after it had switched for the song. thats why I don't use it. as for the classic winamp showing up when you start up, i dont know. does it go away after it starts up? if not click on it and push "alt+w" on your keyboard. I'm Back? |

Nope, Winamp Classic never goes away. Not even when I press Alt W. The only thing that happens is the normal Winamp interface disappears when I press that key combination, but the classic Winamp is still always there.
Thanks, Jeff |

More info on EA use... http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....hreadid=176050 Skin trouble Do you have the latest version of Winamp 5. In an earlier version of WA5 there was a problem with "ghost" images of the classic skin when using a mod skin. If you have not done so try upgrading. If that is not it, are you using any desktop replacements or enhancers (nView, Samurize, LiteStep, WinSpace, etc)? @ whiteflip You need to set (or reset) a default preset for the EQ to change back. See the above EQ link. |

I just downloaded this version of Winamp5 yesterday. Not using any Desktop replacements, but I am using WindowsBlinds 4.1. I just disablied it and ran Winamp again and it's still there.
Thanks, Jeff |

Ok, I think I've got it! If I change to a skin other than the default skin I don't seem to have the problem!
Thanks, Jeff |

as long as it works its alright.
that auto preset setup you showed me JonnyMac works wonderfully. Now I just have to create auto presets for every song that should have it. I wonder if there is a plugin that will auto load based on genre? Or if it would be easily written and useable. I'm Back? |

Are you satisfied now or still looking for a solution? If you change back to the Winamp Modern skin do you still get the ghost images of the classic skin? @ whiteflip If I knew of a plug-in that sets presets based on genre or otherwise, I would most definitely have it on my system. Unfortunately I don't think there is such a plug-in. ![]() Requests for EQ presets based on genre has popped up in the Winamp Wishlist forum every so often. |
