file info

Hi

I have Winamp 5 and it has been working fine up till now, just mainly ripping my own CDs and making playlists.

I have just changed to broadband ADSL, and now when I put a new cd in to rip, it doesn't go offand get the CD file info like it use to (song, album info).

Has anyone had this problem? My Dlink modem DSL504 has a firewall, would that be the problem? I'm using WinXP Pro

I don't want to add the tags manually.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Paul

1. Make sure you changed the connection type in:
Winamp -> Prefs -> General Preferences
from "dial-up modem" to "always connected (lan, dsl, cable)"

2. If the problem persists, then yes, make sure the firewall is configured to allow winamp.exe access to the net.
If you need to manually configure the ports, cddb uses port 8880.

Naturally, I'm also assuming that "use cddb" is still checkmarked in the CD plugin config (prefs -> plugins -> input...)
