Weird Winamp problem

I formatted my computer yesterday to install a new Western Digital Raptor and installed the latest winamp on that drive and kept my mp3's on a different drive on the system. Now whenever I play mp3's and I open up another program such as Internet Explorer the sound stutters for a minute then stops, and then I can't play any sounds on my system at all unless I open them in windows media player.

When I mean "I cant play any sounds" I mean if a program such as Trillian plays a sound it wont play, unless I restart.

Winamp was working fine before the HD change, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Check to see that your drives are running in UDMA mode, not PIO.

Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager (may be slightly different to get there) > IDE/Atapi Controllers >

Primary or Secondary > Properties > Advanced Settings.

Primary IDE, which is a 60 gig and a 120 gig,

Device 0:
Device Type: Auto Detection
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current Transfer Mode: Ultra DMA Mode 5

Device 1:
Device Type: Auto Detection
Transfer Mode: DMA if available
Current Transfer Mode: PIO Mode

I can't change it to UDMA..
