I'm surprised this isn't on the Wishlist...
I read the stickied thread, then did a search, but I found no mention of...
An option to exclude specific directories from being scanned by the Media Library. An example of my directory structure (yes, my music files are on their own partition): code: I don't want files in '(00) new' to be scanned, but in order to do that, I need to do the following: 1) Add 'G:\\' and tell the ML not to add subfolders. 2) Manually add 'G:\(01) soundtracks'... 3) Manually add 'G:\(02) videogames'... ... n+1) Scan. An infinitely easier way to accomplish this would be to: 1) Add 'G:\\' normally. 2) Add 'G:\(00) new', and tell the ML to exclude it from scans. 3) Scan. Voila. Are there any plans for this in the future? (P.S.: It seems the ML will scan the partition/drive's Recycle Bin, too, which is Not Cool™ )

Try This...
If You've a list of your Directories you would like to add (for example: "Dir_1" "Dir_2" "Dir_3" "Dir_n") you can make it easily you have to go to the "Library Preferences"->"Media Importing" there you'll have to add ANY Directory. After This you'll have to select this one in the list over the buttons and select the "Edit Selected"-Button. Now you can paste your list of directories as simple text.
OK. It's not so easy but I think it's easier than selecting and adding one directory after the other. |
