Hi! I'm new making skins
Hi!^^ I just made up my mind to try to make skins, well I read the tutorial in this page, but im sorry if the question is really stupid
but I didn't find the file where the images of the default skin is, or do I have to make it from the file that says moder skin? Thanx and sorry for the trouble^^Edit: I forgot to tell that I tried to look in the winamp files, or in my skin files to search for it^^ Last edited by Newbiedowi; 29th May 2004 at 18:21. |

The default skin is alright, but this is probably the best template for making skins:

I´m also new to skinnig. I downloaded that skin template above and I would like to know how I add a picture to the bacground. I have this picture that I myself have drawn and would like to put it as a background for my skin. So, hoe do you add a picture to the background? I am using Photoshop 7.

Easy
you open skeletons.bmp, make a new layer and paste the picture on it. Then you can crop and save main.bmp, volume, eq, etc..You just have to be careful that you leave room for the buttons.. good luck, you can show us the results here

Layers are a skinner's best friend

Actually, I'll put in a vote for layers, and I'll pimp my sig. Even though Newbie's already got Skinners Atlas, it's still down there. [website](foomonkey)|(Winamp|DevArt)[skins] I'm so hip I have trouble seeing over my pelvis. Jellby's Skiners' Atlas |

Heh, I think there were something like 250 layers in my last skin. It's not a problem if you're used to it. And insane.
You thought I was dead, didn't you? |

I must say that I hate layers. I know that they are like god´s gift to picture editing, but still they suck. Probably because I don´t know how to use them properly

Onizuka yeah layers are hard^^U this is going to look so simple and bad lol Edit: I've got a question, to make the posbar slim, I have to make a new file with the same name, with the posbar I want? Last edited by Newbiedowi; 1st June 2004 at 21:11. |

i use absurd amounts of layers so i can have total control of every little area of my skins.....my goal in life is to make a one layer skin using just the airbrush.
![]() and make the posbar slim by reducing the dimensions of the posbar.bmp using mspaint(you can use the mouse to stretch the border inwards) .........?. |
