When I hit play on winamp, I get a dialog box saying 'DirectX 5+ not found'.
This is a recent phenomenon, as everything was cool and groovy until I installed NT 4 service pack 6a. This (I think) wound DirectX back to version 3. Uninstalling the service pack didn't help, and I can't get any version of DirectX for NT off Microsoft's web site later than 3 - unless I want to upgrade to Windows 2000, and I don't.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks.

The reason you couldn't find any version of DirectX for NT4 later than 3 is that NT4 doesn't support any version of DirectX above v3. So SP6a couldn't have wound back your version to 3 because there's no way it would have been higher than v3 in the first place...
