Why does winamp crash?

Is there anybody out there who can help me?
Every time that I want to play a file, it doesn't matter what file it is (.wav, .mid, .MP3, CDDA...) it stops responding. My whole system just stops. Only thing I can do is press CTRL ALT DEl and close winamp...
Than I regain control...
Why doesn't it work?

I already look there and the sollution wasn't there either. Could it be because I use a different skin then the original?
I don't know what the problem is but a sollution would be great...

Sound Aureal A3D
video 3D Rage LT pro AGP 2X
Direct-x version 7.1
Anything else you need to know that might help you to solve my problem?
