problem starting up 5.03 in WinXP
This problem started very recently. I'm not sure if its a problem with the kernel32.dll file. But everytime I try to start winamp, I always get this message.
Winamp has encountered a problem and needs to close down. Sorry for the inconvenience. I tried searching through the microsoft knowledge base for this issue, they have something like this, but it covers the problem for Winamp 2.7. If anyone knows any way to fix this problem, please tell me. I'm tired of using media player to play my MP3s |

Yea I have this problem too.
Running WinXP SP 1 Winamp 5.03 Sound: Creative SB PCI Processor: Intel PIII 1Ghz Memory: 256MB File format: WMA I have the problem when selecting a .WMA file from the desktop without Winamp already running. Theoretically, Winamp should start up and load the file, then play it. What happens is Winamp starts up, loads the file, starts playback, then crashes. I'll try the full uninstall. |

Update patch
If the problem persists, click on the error message where it says "to view details...click here" and tell us the following information: application: winamp.exe | module: ? | version: ? offset: ? |
