can stream on LAN but not from Internet

I have managed to get the shoutcast server to stream music to a machine on my LAN with no problem.

When I try to get the same machine to connect to the server via the shoutcast directory it says
"[could not connect]http://..."

My server is listed correctly in the shoutcast directory.

I have a netgear DG834G wireless lan/router.
I have set up a service for winamp for ports 8000-8001 and associated that in the firewall rules to allow any tcp connections.

I also ran the link at http://www.radiotoolbox.com/online_t...ntheygetin.php

This returned the message "xx.xxx.xx.xxx:8000 is open - a server is running on this port"

An ideas what to do next?
