Shoutcast Random Stops, Buffer Stays at 0%
I apologize if this is in the wrongplace.
When listening to streams from shoutcast, I get random stops and Winamp does not want to reload the stream, as I have to do it manually. The stream then plays no problem, but could stop at any moment. I have no problems connecting, its just staying connected and having Winamp reload it on its own that I am having issues with. Any ideas as to what is going on?? |

System specs?
Connection type/speed? Behind a router/firewall? Winamp version? (5.03 plus update patch?) Clean install with NO 3rd-party plugins? Tried adjusting any of the relevant settings in: Prefs > Plugins > Input > MPEG Audio Decoder > config > Streaming tab? eg. Increasing all: Streaming data buffer, streaming prebuffer & underrun buffer... Although it shouldn't be happening, if there's only one entry in your playlist at the time, then you can turn on the Repeat button, which will automate the reconnection process... Or you can click it again to switch to Repeat Track mode (modern skin). |

I have a similar problem. I used to be able to listen to the radio without problem, but since I set up wireless router (D-link DI-624), The stream randomly stops. Only buffer 0% as a possible clue. Usually I get about 3 - 5 min of time to listen, but it has been as short as 45s to 14min.
PS what is forwarded ports? |

I have since found trouble on my DSL line. There was a RF filter at the D-marc point ( the little green box on the side of your house where the Phone Company brings their lines to). Other symptom I was experiencing: the DSL cxn would momentarily die as I dialed out or someone rang in. Since this was removed I haven't had any problems. Almost as good as a Frontal Lobotomy
Hope this helps |
