I have the same problem, even my moderator mates have fucked around with it and can't fix it. OK, I read through it and I am willing to be my bottom dollar you have a SB pci sound card.
I replaced my nasty Trident Labs pci sound card with a slightly nicer Creative Labs Vibra128 card and voila` I have that noise. I have updated the drivers (and again today), I have tried direct sound and waveoutput, I have turned off smooth scrolling, I have tried running other version of winamp, I have fucked with the buffer length and sample size for more hours than I care to recall. SOOOOO anyone else got this problem?? Even better, anyone got a solution? |

Try unchecking the "Show window contents while dragging" option under your Display properties (right-click on your desktop, and click on Properties).
I don't know whether this affects anything, just another possible solution. Cheers, jaz ------------------ http://iomegajaz.cjb.net WSDskins |

I think that particular option is found under Folder Settings -> View -> Visual Settings . . .
