Preferences (Ctrl+P) > CD Ripping > Output File Settings > tick 'Automatically add tags with metadata to ripped files'

Hm.
Is Winamp picking up the CDDB title information from the internet OK? He uses statistics like a drunk uses lamp-posts: for support, not illumination. |

I assume you're ripping to MP3?

Hi.
I get the same problem: (Plus another one): 1. Using MP3 Encoder v1.2, trying to encode in VBR (192kbmin, 320max, quality high/2) Output settings: Auto add to media library - yes Auto add tags with metadata - yes (I'm getting cd info from CDDB and then ripping. It adds filenames excatly the way i want ('artist - ## title') Why wont it add ID3 tags? 2. In playlist generation: I have UNCHECKED all of this - i do NOT want it to generate playlists. It still does. Any ideas? Cheers |

mine does the same thing. But only when i rip to MP3. Anything else works just fine.
If you edit the tag after it rips it as "Unknown Artist" does it work? |

It works perfectly fine here.
Not sure, but have you possibly installed some crappy 3rd-party mp3 decoder, like in_mp3pro or in_mad? If so, remove it, and use the default Nullsoft in_mp3.dll only! |

Fixed.
Which is good i suppose. But is there a better MP3Pro plugin around? (Ie. since the THOMPSON one doesnt 'agree' with winamp 5 and ripping.) |

Nah. Thomson plugin messes up much more than that...
Doesn't support id3v2 Doesn't parse metadata to library Doesn't support shoutcast streaming titles General bugginess/crashes Thomson/Fraunhofer messed up big time by not giving its new proprietry format a different file extension, eg. m3p It's entirely up to them, the mp3pro patent holders, to fix their shabby plugin. Take all issues up with Thomson directly. Point them to the Winamp 5 SDK MP3Pro is on the way out anyway (not that it ever made its way 'in' to start with) Soon to be replaced by the far far superior aac plus / aac2 (5.1ch streams at 48k which sound as good as mp3 192k / --aps) ps. Besides all that, lol, afaik, there's an option in the MP3Pro plugin to not use it for standard MP3. Try unchecking that option maybe...

This thread should now be considered closed. My problem was the Thompson Plugin. "DJ Egg" thank you for finally solving my problem. I opened this post in January it is now officially solved/closed.
