$8500.....and it'll be obsolete in 18 months.

That's why I never spend more than $2500 on a PC. I could have gone more on the last notebook I bought and got the 3.2GHz CPU w/ HT, but I settled for 2.8 since, by the end of the year, 4GHz CPUs will be on the market, and 3.2's will be more common.....and more importantly, cheaper.

But the "extreme machines" are nice to look at and drool over. And the $18,000 monitor's amazing.

No way I could justify spending as much on a PC and it's peripherals as I'd spend on a car, though. I'm happy enough with my GRT390Z. And it's faster than most desktop PCs out there, anyway.

P.S...Couldn't I just buy 2 GRT390Z's with 3.2GHz CPUs, 2GB of RAM each and a terabyte of external HDDs, for around $6500, and have more throughput than the PC costing $2000 more? Not to mention portability. And two UXGA monitors. Granted, I'd be basically trading single-implementation performance for mobility and 2-grand, but like anything else it all depends on each person's needs.

I'm a psychosomatic sister running around without a leash.

Yup, those are called bottlenecks.

Alex Jones: Do you want the puppet on the right or the puppet on the left? What a bunch of garbage; liberal democrat, conservative, republican. It's all there to control you! Two sides of the same coin. Two management teams bidding for control, the CEO job of Slavery, Incorporated! The truth is out there in front of you, but they lay out this buffet of lies. I'm sick of it, and I'm not going to take a bite out of it, do you got me?
