On your server, you can use port 80 and 81 if you are not webhosting with apache (or IIS in Windows). This will surely make it through firewalls for listeners - as far as your firewall is concerned (server side) - port 8000 and 8001 need to be open (if you do not use 80 and 81) as that is the default for WinAmp to use when connecting to your stream.
