Maxthon (formerly myie2) users - crash/freeze

Ever since myIE2 became maxthon I've noticed that it seems to crash a whole hell of a lot. I've browsed the maxthon boards and i'm not the only one to have this happen to, but I am wondering, has anyone here found any way to solve this? I went back to the last version of myIE2 becuase it's so annoying.

myie2 = ie with some added features.

I just installed Firefox for the first time last week having used Mozilla for a while and am very impressed with it, fast and nice to use (and with essential extensions such as mouse gestures).
