visual c++ runtime error

Hi - pls help me. I jsut installed winamp 5.03 - when i play a file, it plays it fine, but when the track ends, i get the following pop up error msg:
runtime error!
Program C:\program files\winamp\winam.exe
abnormal program termination.

When i click 'ok' - the error goes and winamp closes again.
Any ideas

Install the update patch for Winamp 5.03.

Also try the following DirectSound config tweaks…

No Luck? Please provide system specs so we can better help you. It is your first time with 5.03, however did you have any earlier version of Winamp? Did you install any third party (additional) Winamp plug-ins? Thanks

Hi, thanks for reply - i installed patch - no luck - was not running any other version of winamp before 5.3. OS is win2k prof. I just wanna play .m4a files :-(

So you haven't installed ANY extra 3rd-party plugins then?

Apart from that, we still need to know your system specs!

Does the problem persist if you replace the Nullsoft in_mp4.dll with the Audiocoding in_mp4.dll ?

spec - win2k prof - service pack 3. 1GB memory. pentium III. CPU - 1066MHz
