Internet Radio > Media Library > Mini Browser > Crash

This is a problem that started affecting me recently. When connecting to an Internet radio station the mini browser in the media library pops up at the beginning of each new track (Quite irritating by itself), then after a few tracks XP crashes with a blue screen.

As far as I can tell this is station specific. It also happens only with internet radio. The station causing the blue screen crash is:

http://radiostorm.com/classic128.pls (RadioStorm Classic Rock)

Which opens:

http://***********play.com/mantahr/

The technical data of the crash for those who want to know is:

STOP: 0000008E (0xC0000005,0xBF866BF3,0xBAA8E788,0x00000000)
Win32k.sys-Address BF866BF3 base at BF800000, DateStamp 3f73195d

Looking through the Winamp preferences I can find nothing to stop this behaviour.

I’m running XP home on a Athlon 2000+, 256MB RAM, 20GB disk (2GB spare). Windows is patched to date and I have up to date firewall and antivirus.

Just to add - Looking at www.RadioStorm.com it looks like they’ve become http://mantaradio.com/ . However, I still can find no way to stop the mini browser opening (or crashing).

Prefs > Media Library > Library Options:
Uncheck: Do not allow media to auto switch to Now Playing

As to what's causing the crash, could be a number of things...
anything from browser hijacker/spyware, to script/ad/popup blocker, to a bad 3rd-party winamp plugin, etc.

Thanks DJ Egg. I looked through the options but I didn't realise that would fix it. As far as I can tell it isn't any form of spyware causing the crash but it could be something on the site. Anyway it does matter now since I can turn it off. Cheers
