Just installed DirectX 9b... now Winamp not working
I have seen some people having problems with winamp 5 instantly crashing on the forums before but I havent found anyone that has managed to answer it...
I had to install Directx 9 to play a new game... The first thing I did after reboot was actually not play the game but listen to an mp3... It instantly crashes now... Im assuming Directx9 has something to do with it... Can anyone help me please? O/S WinXP Pro (one account - Mine) Above average Athlon XP1700+ system... When I execute winamp, a part of it appears in the top left hand corner of the screen and then your standard XP error message "this program has ended unexpectadly - to send error report to ms etc, etc..." any ideas? Thanks Ben |

What are the details of the error message?
(c/o click here) application: winamp.exe | version: ? | module: ? | version: ? | offset: ? You probably need to reset the DirectSound Output Device in: Prefs > Plugins > Output > out_ds > config to match the soundcard (which is?) ds driver. Does it only crash when you try to play a file? (ie. not when you just open winamp from the desktop shortcut). Have you tried a clean install? |
