Associating with executable files.

Hi there.
I have a big problem. At first winamp couldnt played the next track. So i removed winamp and re-installed. Then I saw that Winamp is trying to run .exe files. So i go to Folder Options and there I saw that winamp associates with "EXÉ" files. (not exe then exé). So I removed this from the list and rebooted. But nothing has changed.

Can some one help me out? Thanks.

What 3rd party plugins are installed?

Are you using the latest version (5.03c + Update Patch)?

If not, install it.

If you do have the latest version, try doing a Clean Reinstall

Using Powerplayer2 plugin maybe?
This plugin registers the .exé extension as Shockwave Flash.
Remove or comment this out in winamp.ini

Further info here

If it's not PowerPlayer2 plugin, then it MUST be some other 3rd-party plugin to blame.
Whatever the case, I suggest you remove it/them.

Also make sure "manual playlist advance" is NOT checkmarked in:
Winamp > Prefs (Ctrl+P) > Playlist

Apart from that, "winamp couldnt played the next track" doesn't really tell us much. We're going to need MUCH more info than that.

So m²k's advice is probably the best we can offer at the moment...

Well at first i do a clean reinstall, then i patched winamp. At last i installed power play 2 (yes this was the 3. party plugin which caused me the trouble). So i removed the line with asscoiation with exe and exé and rebooted. But nothing has changed.

Does any one knows how i to run them normally? (i am making a batch file so i can run any application buts its annoying. And i am also getting some kernel errors.)

ps: Thanks for the support =)
