(almost)no stream response
sorry for this topic again, but i've searched and searched the forums and tried the couple goofball fixes i found, but nothing worked.
this is the computer- P4 1.8Ghz WinXP Pro Fix It Utilities(Anti-Virus) Spybot S&D the problem is more than half the time I try to connect to Shoutcast I get the "error creating port" message. sometimes it just does nothing after the hook-up try, no message, nothing in the playlist, zip. If I have an mp3 going and then try to connect, it might connect 1 out of 20 times. ANY shoutcast stream acts like this. The old winAmp didn't do this, I have also just done a fresh install and had winamp with NOTHING else except WinXP on this machine and still nothing, so I am POSITIVE its not any virus or spy hunter. Also tried the stupid ligos fix in a previous post, this is the brilliant post where the guy said "ligos is on your machine and is messing it up"...well, after a few more posts, turns out there was nothing to do with ligos on the other guys machine, so now the guy says "well now thats it-you need ligos on it, then remove it, then reinstall and configure it and re-uninstall it..." perhaps one of you has seen that helpful waste of time. the guy got it working eventually, BUT NO REAL SOLUTION WAS GIVEN, in any post for that matter. Like I said, sorry for this topic, but does someone have any idea whats up? and you know Im not the only one with this problem |

You will probably get better help for this in the Winamp forums since it is not directly related to the operation of a Shoutcast stream but rather a problem with Winamp running on your machine.

Yopu might even want to try using the old version instead. The problem does seem weird as Winamp doesnt create a port (it's not a server), it simply listens through a port and unless you have a firewall blocking those ports there should be no reason it couldn't connect.

I am at a complete loss as to whats not working, my buddy has the same problem, he runs servers and pretty much is able to fix anything and he is at a loss too.
