Sound gets distorted/poppy when I browse the internet
Not sure if this has been posted or not... many apologies if it has. Whenever Im on the internet, moving my mouse over links (or in this case, as Im typing this message) the sound... gets distorted. The sound itself stays the same, but I can hear... popping noises. Hard to explain, but its the best that I can describe it. =3 At first I thought it was just my mp3, but Ive realized that its all of them. I recently formatted my harddrive, and just got winamp back on my computer, so thats why I havent noticed this before. Before I formatted, I never had this problem. Can anyone help out? I had spcamp (to play zsnes game music), but I removed it and reinstalled winamp but Im still having the problem. I dont have any plugins.

Did you try the DirectSound output tweaks?

In that case, could you include system specs in your reply?
Try updating your soundcard drivers. Also, run Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware to remove any spy- and adware from your system. They might slow down your computer. Scan your system for viruses as well. If you still continue having problems, you can post a HijackThis log to see if any spyware's still there. |
