How to find a "hidden" track on a CD, which does not show in the playlist?

The CD is "Pocket Full of Kryptonite" by the Spin Doctors.

There are 10 ordinary tracks, which do show up in the playlist.

There is also an 11th track, "Euro-Trash Girl" hidden out at track #69. This track does not show up in the playlist.

I know it's there, I played it years ago with a DOS command line CD-player util.

Ideas?

Maybe the menu play method. It is usually suggested for enhanced CDs, but give it a try...
Click on the main menu icon > select 'Play' > select 'Audio CD x:' where "x" is the drive of choice
-or-
Right-click on a "empty" space in the main or player window > select 'Play' > select 'Audio CD x:' where "x" is the drive of choice

Sorry, I should have said this. I have used Winamp for years. I'm fairly familiar with the basic controls.

I dont see how your answer really applies to my question...

I am not trying to call your knowledge of Winamp in to question.

As I said, the menu play method is usually suggested for playing enhanced (mixed) CDs. Winamp tends to have difficulty playing all tracks on e-CDs and the menu play method is used as a workaround. It is possible that will also work for the "hidden" track. Maybe or maybe not.

You came here asking for ideas and you were given one. Be happy

Oops, sorry

Oops, sorry. My apologies.

I didnt mean to sound like that. I'm not touchy like that

I tried the menu play method before I came here and posted. I try to be conscientious about stuff like that

In fact, my knowledge is Winamp *is* limited. I just use it to play MP3's, CD's, and streaming audio, and I'm sure it has far more potential. Half the questions in this forum I don't even understand the context of.

But back to the technical issue. Menu Play doesn't work. The Next Track button won't advance past song #10.

Is there no way to order Winamp to go play a specific track number on an audio CD? Could this be done from the command line, or perhaps with a batch file?

Don't worry about it. Apology accepted and my apologies to you also.

Maybe one of the following methods
Methods Through Winamp

Try playing the CD from the Devices section of the Media Library

-or-

1. Play the CD as normal or the menu play method
2. In the Playlist Editor click the Add button > select/click Add file(s)
3. Type X:\Track69.cda where X is the drive letter for the CDROM
4. In the Playlist Editor, depending on the skin you are using click the Manage Playlists, List Opts or List and save the playlist for the next time you are listening to that CD

Methods Through Windows

1. From My Computer or Windows Explorer right click on the CDROM icon select Explore
2. Maybe the "hidden" track will be listed there
3. Double click on the track

-or-

1. Start button
2. Run...
3. Type X:\Track69.cda where X is the drive letter for the CDROM

To be sure that track is played with Winamp make sure that CDA is highlighted/selected in Winamp's associated file types (Winamp > Ctrl+P > General Preferences > File Types) prior to the above methods. If either of the methods work, theoretically the hidden track should appear in the play list. Then you can add the rest of the tracks...
1. Playlist Editor > Add button > select Add Directory/Folder
2. select the appropriate CD drive > OK button
3. depending on the skin you are using click the Manage Playlists, List Opts or List and save the playlist for the next time you are listening to that CD

Not exactly relevent, but there I thought it was interesting, on a CD by Cracker, Kerosine Hat, there is an unlisted track #69 Euro-Trash Girl. Not hidden in any way other than there are 99 tracks and only 1-12, 69, and 98/99 have audio on them.

Sorry for the O/T

JonnyMac's suggestions look good, but have you tried other media players? Just outta curiosity.
