ok every time i try and play a video i get the sound but i get no video...and yes im sure it is a video...i dont knwo what to do someone plz help...me

Have you tried disabling video overlay:
Prefrences (Ctrl + P) --> Video. Uncheck "allow hardware video overlay"

If not, system specs? Latest vidcard/directx drivers? Correct codecs installed?
