Dropouts with 5.04?

Anyone else getting constant dropouts with 5.04? I did not have this problem with the previous version of 5.0 (I think it was 5.02).

I have set the buffer to 5 seconds to no avail. When I least expect it, it will glitch. Just typing in a window and it glitches.

AMD Athlon 1.4 GHz
Asus A7N8X Deluxe MB w/ sound
512MB RAM
5-10% average CPU usage

apps:
mIRC 6.03
UltraEdit 9.00a
Photoshop 7
Eudora 5.1
MailWasher Pro 4.1
Trillian 0.74

using:
Winamp 5.04 with Classic Skin playing an mp3 thru DirectSound v2.2.10

Let's see if using waveOut fixes it...

I am not sure what you mean by dropouts. Does Winamp crash? Does the output stop working?

The music stops and then starts playing. A 1/10th of a second glitch.

Did you install any 3rd-party plugins?

Maybe try the DirectSound output tweaks:

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.
