Problems after I upgraded to v.2.7

I've had winamp for years but this is confusing me. I upgraded to v. 2.7 and when playing a song from anywhere, where on my playlist or on my computer somewhere else, I automatically decodes it into a WAV file in the file I decode them in.
What the heck?@!?

Prefrences (Ctrl-P) -> Plug-ins -> Output -> Select "Nullsoft waveOut plug-in 2.2" _> Hit "Close"

some how you were using the disk writer plugin. It must have got selected some how. Oh well
