"Popping" at the end of MP3 and MP4 Files

Just recently I switched over from Musicmatch to Winamp, and upgraded to Winamp Pro. Unfortunately, I'm thinking about swtiching back. Whenever I rip CDs to either MP3 or MP4 AAC, each track ends up with a slight pop at the end. This problem does not occur with Musicmatch. Is there any setting I could use to fix this?

Uncheck "use sonic engine" (or words to that effect) in:
Prefs > CD Ripping > Ripping tab

and use wnaspi32.dll instead

Note: this is assuming your OS is Win2k or XP
We can't really help any further without knowing all relevant system specs.

Awesome, thank you. Sorry I didn't think to include other specs, but I'm running Win XP with a SoundMAX integrated audio driver. I'll try it with the Sonic engine unchecked. Thanks again.

Okay, so far, so good. CDs that I had trouble with are ripping fine, the MP4s are playing with no pops. The ripping does go a little slower, however. Is that to be expected with the different engine?

Just out of curiousity, why does this fix it? Or, what's wrong with the Sonic engine that makes it pop?

I guess the Sonic Engine isn't fully compatible with all makes/models of CD drive?
