Not too sure what is up, but all was fine with ver. 2.64 until I installed 2.666, after installing 2.666 everytime I opened an mp3 my PC locked up completely...had to power off. I uninstalled and re-installed several times and the same thing occured. So I waited for 2.7 and low and behold the same thing happens, except it happens during the installation..please help..I'm stuck using Microsoft's Media PLayer...what a resource pig it is!!!! :-P

winAMP (all version 2 builds, including 2.666 and 2.7) is locking up my 98SE box as well, but it seems to happen only when I play files from another networked machine. Anyone know how to completely remove WA from a system (including REG keys and other buried references)?

"SAwG" Duh! Ofcourse you can "Add/Remove Programs" any tool knows that! But what "real" tools don't know is that windows does NOT clean up after itself very well and therefore leaves traces of uninstalled programs lodged in the registry where it can still screw things up! I think this is what AngryPenguin is referring to! Anyway, whatever... :-P
