using cdrom's headphones input as winamp audio output

hi guys.
my soundcard's audio output plug is death and i'm trying to listen to music trough the cdrom's headphones input.
since the cdrom sends audio to the sound card, this seems possible.

ideas anyone?

i don't think it is possible. I think that the headphone jack on the CDrom drive is hardwired to the CD reader.

Probably the only thing you'll be able to listen to that way is an actual CD.

Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

Not probably... definitely!

The headphone jack on the front of a cd-rom drive is for listening to CD's playing in THAT cd-rom drive ONLY.
