errors with Winamp Amália Rodrigues's Biography
Hello everybody!
My name is Catarina and I am portuguese. I found some errors in the Amália Rodrigues's Biography provided by Winamp (at http://info.winamp.com/winamp/artist...0&template=yes).Some of the mistakes are corrected below: - She was one of nine children, not ten; - As a teen Rodrigues performed as fado singer, singing "Fado de Alcântara" in 1935 (she was born in 1920) and at a voluntary service party. She was never known as a tango dancer (??!!) like stated in the Amália Rodrigues's Biography provided by Winamp;- In the same text is stated the following "brilliantly fusing the urban and rural styles of Lisbon and Coimbra". The fado style from Lisbon is a popular one and that is different from being urban. Coimbra is also a city since a long time (more than 3 centuries) and Coimbra fado's style is not rural. It is an academic one, because it was mostly sang (and still is) by the university students since a long time (count centuries). The true Amália Rodrigues's Biography can be found at the Camões foundation (supported by the Portuguese republic) at http://www.instituto-camoes.pt/bases.../biografia.htm PS: even if you can not directly understand Portuguese you can always found a translation elsewhere.
