Just create a WinAMP playlist and set it to auto repeat [loop]. You would also change the input from "SoundCard" to "WinAMP".

The server does not "play" nor encode MP3s or the stream -- It only relays [distributes, serves...] the output of the WinAMP ShoutCAST DSP.

No WinAMP, no broadcast.

Your source will auto-reconnect when the DJ is finished and has kicked themselves as the source.

I can guess how that works, but you would still have to have a Static WinAMP playlist running all the time...

The DNAS will only allow one "source" at a time, so you could have a live DJ or other source playing [connected], and the second static WinAMP playlist "attempting" to connect all the time -- the static source will fail and retry forever [adjust the reconnection timeout] as long as the live DJ is still connected. As soon as the live DJ disconnects [and the source idle timeout expires], the static stream will be able to connect.

In order to allow a live DJ again, you would have to manually disconnect the static stream, either via the WinAMP DSP, or the admin HTML interface.

For this to work in seamless harmony, wou will also have to modify the source idle timeount [make it small] on the DNAS to give the static stream a chance to break in quickly after the live DJ goes bye-bye.

There is a "not available" file that the DNAS can play [send to clients] when there is no source connected:

code:

; BackupFile can specify a mp3 file that will be streamed to listeners over
; and over again when the source stream disconnects. AutoDumpUsers must be
; 0 to use this feature. When the source stream reconnects, the listeners
; are rejoined into the live broadcast.
; Note that the backup file MUST be the same samplerate/channels as the
; live stream in order for this to work properly. Although bitrate CAN
; vary, you can use '%d' to specify the bitrate in the filename
; (i.e. C:\backup%d.mp3 would be C:\backup32.mp3 if you are casting at 32kbps).
; The default is no BackupFile
; BackupFile=C:\intro%d.mp3

I would guess that this file can be rather large [long] and could be what you have seen already.
