I am using Winamp visualisations to respond to mic input using Line-In input plug-in v1.0. The built in visualisations (Spec ani. and oscilloscope) work fine but they are rubbish compared to Geiss or G-Force but when I use these (or any other) plugin there is about a 1 second delay from the input to the visualisation. WHY ?? (PC : SB AWE 64, Winamp 2.7, 64Mb ram, K6-2 400, ATI Rage Pro etc.)

Dangit, I was sure this got answered before, but I can't find it. Oh well. I did find this thread, though: http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/000002.html
Also, have you tried using the latest version of Jasper v/d Gronde's plug-in (currently 1.31)? And have you tried using Nullsoft's built-in CD/LineIn plug-in? Perhaps one of those would have lower latency. |

I tried this plugin and it's still slow. I am puzzled by the fact that the Winamp visualisations work with no lag at all !!! (The small ones on the Winamp front end). It's only when I use a plugin that the delay is introduced.

You could try to set bufsize=576, that might decrease the delay, although it will probably increase skips.
