Output Left Audio Channel Only

I have a song where I want only the left audio channel. The left has the music and the right has words that I want eliminated.

I tried using the output to disk plugin and simply moving the balance slider but it did not work. Is this something that can be done in Winamp? Any other easily obtainable software?

You could try Nullsoft DSP.

Prefs > Plugins > DSP/Effects > dsp_sps.dll

Enter :

spl1=spl0;

in the 'Per sample' box.

Something a little fancier
spl1=(spl1*(1-slider1))+(spl0*slider1);
will allow you to fade out the right channnel
