J-Pop, J-Rock?

Who likes it?

I like Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki as far as J-Pop goes.
As for J-Rock I like The Pillows, L'Arc En Ciel....

Also Yoko Kanno but her compositions aren't really J-Pop... Totally different.

I've got a brother who lives in Japan & he plays Japanese stuff for me sometimes. Halcali & Yukari Fresh are good cheerleader-synthpop & Kiseru reminds me of Iron and Wine in a good way. I'll see if he has any Utada Hikaru or Ayumi Hamasaki.

I prefer Jrock myself. X Japan, Asian Kung-fu Generation, L'arc En Ciel, Dir En Grey, and Luna Sea, but now I dont listen to it anymore.

Megumi Hayshibara...She's done songs for many anime titles...Nice voice...

I don't understand a damn thing since I don't take up Japanese, but to my ears, it sounds a hell of alot better than much of the American pop that pollutes the airwaves...

Yui Horie is also another good J-Pop singer...
