Winamp mp3 quality suddenly drops

Hi,

I've been experiencing some problems with winamp 5. I have a problem where my .mp3 file quality suddenly falls at a random time and sounds distorted and all messed up

. I used to be able to just restart winamp and the problem would be solved, but now it won't go away. How can I solve this? Thanx.

BTW I use an Nvidia nforce 3 on-board sound card.

Does this happen in other media players? If so, this is most likely a driver problem. Ensure your soundcard and DirectX drivers are up to date. If this only happens on certain MP3s, then they were encoded poorly, and may be dummy files put out on P2P networks by the RIAA.
