Very tough subject, depressionists beware!

yeah ladies and gentlemen, its death and the afterworld!

me, like some people, are afraid to die and want to keep living forever.... but we cant..

lately i keep thinking about it, and the more i think about it the more i get frightened and scared.

do you believe in reincarnation or the afterlife (heaven)?

I believe that whatever happens, there is no way you can change it, so there is no point worrying about it. Doesn't keep me up at night (although it did constantly for months when I was 10)

I don't really worry although I don't believe in an afterlife. When I'm dead I don't think I'll notice and thus not be bothered anymore.

Now, a painful death would be something to worry about although I think it's even worse worrying your whole life about what might happen than to die a painful death

I don't belive in any afterlife, re-incarnation or anything other. I'm not scared of death because the way i see it, it's just like your heart beating, or you sleeping - completely natural.

You might already be dead and existing in some kind of twilight zone between the living and the afterlife, in a Bruce Willis/6th sense kind of way.

However, if that's not the case then I look forward to coming back as a ghost and haunting those people that pissed me off while I was alive...

yeah, i think my house is haunted, i saw a fast moving white cloud (or mist, whatever) passing beside me once while walking through the hall, even my cat saw it, that made me wonder!

now im both curious and afraid that this thing will haunt me when i sleep, i even heard some weird sounds when i knew nothing was supposed to make a sound....
[Edit] on the other hand, its cold here now and im sleeping
with the window open (dont ask), so maybe i hear sounds of stuff that change molecularly due to change in temperatures[/edit]

seiance anyone?

To me there has to be something greater than this shallow existence that we choose to refer to as reality. I for one do not believe in coincidence or chance.
I prefer to believe that I will be able to get up as late as I want, have cookies and train in the next life.
Reincarnation for the masses is not something I believe in.

I am so important I feel the need to let it be known like a liberal discovering the internets for the first time. Uh hur hur hur. I also wash myself with a rag on a stick.

as mia said, if theres nothing after life, whats it matter, you wont know that, since you wont exist. What would suck would be continuing conciousness after brain actuvuty stops and staring at your closed eyelids for all eternity...

I think it would be a horrible thing to cease to exist.

I see no reason to believe that anything happens besides no longer being aware of anything.

What i don't like is the thought of dying without realising it. I would like to realise that death is here and to accept that my life is over and that i have lived it well.

Death is part of life . . .

. . . just happens to be the end of it . . . that's all.

That's my belief also. I'm not really afraid of death, even though I probably should be. I've had three extremely close calls with death and by all rights I shouldn't have survived any of them. How I managed to come away with no crippling injuries from any of them is a miracle. My last brush with death was about 1 1/2 years ago when I went over a cliff out at the coast and fell over 35 feet into the ocean. It's amazing that I didn't hit any rocks on the way down or in the water and even more amazing that I didn't drown.

I believe that when I die I will come back as a pyramid sized lizzard with blue skin and 16ft teeth. Wearing a bow tie and shagging rhinos because they're tight as hell.

does it have to do with the fact that most of you are christians that go to church to pray?

Do you really think Christians have to go to church to pray?

I don't go to church to pray. I go to church to learn more about God. You can pray anywhere, God hears you regardless of what building you happen to be in or not in.

I do not usually get involved with religous threads however.......

You dont have to go to church to pray. I pray anywhere and everywhere.

I am a bad girl and have not walked into a church in over 2 years but still have alot of faith in god. He has helped me get through the worst pain and embraced me in my best acomplishments.

I agree with missy, however I believe that one does not have to step into a church in order to be saved and go to heaven. I haven't stepped foot inside a church in years.

This is a sig of some nature.

The existance of a physical God in the traditional sense just defies all logic for me. I'm not saying there's nothing out there, i'm saying that it is far far beyond our puny perceptions and theories to comprehend.
