playlist limiting plugin

Hi,

i'm working on a small plugin which should limit the playlist to a specified maximum number of songs

perhaps someone of you guys can help me with tracking commands like add-files to playlist etc. so that when the maximum songlimit is reached that dialog is blocked..

i tried stuff but the only thing which works is the block of the standard open file(s) dialog but that even doesn't enqueue files you select

i hope someone got the idea of that plugin and can help me. thanks.
