High Pitch Whine
Hey guys, here is a question for you.
During the playback of movies, Winamp will produce a high pitch whine after a period of time. This is not the case of all movies, only a few. The file plays correctly on other video players however (Divx Player, WMP 9.0, etc). It does not happen right away, but it becuase to expontionaly increase over time. I can stop the movie, and replay it, and the whine will go away. I can advance the movie to the location where i left off and the whine will not return until a certain period of time. Here are my system specs: Windows 2000 (sp4) Pentium 4 3.2 ghz MSI 865PE motherboard (does have onboard audio, but it is disabled) Sound Blaster LIVE! Geforce 6600GT 512 MB of ram All drivers/codec/software are current releases. I have experenced this problem before in the past but just lived with it... until now . I did a forum search before I posted, and here is what I came back with:http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....ght=high+pitch http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....ght=high+pitch http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....ght=high+pitch Here are also the codecs that I am using during playback: Sound -> 0x2000(AC3, Dolby Laboratories, Inc) v.70b Video -> divx(Divx) v9.9.9.999 (<--- file version seems odd but I am just pulling it from the dll info) No DSP plugins installed. Using DirectSound output as an output plugin. Any more information that you need i'll be more then happy to give (but I do think I gave enough already .
