Mic and music major problems

i know you guys probably hear this question alot, but i have been stewing and searching over it for a while..

but i managed to get my mic and music both on advanced.

however, ehrn i press the mic, the music level jumps high...adjusts its self down again after a few secs, and then when i let go of the mic, it raises again..

i just need this fixed and them im all set, im relly stuck on what to do here.
please help me, i owe you all
